Planning Your Session
For Children...
Working with children should be a fun and exciting experience for everyone. Sometimes when children feel pressure to look or act a certain way, it makes them uptight. I like to treat my photo shoots as an adventure for the child. The atmosphere should stay as light and relaxed as possible. I will start my session off with candid shots to get a feel for the child, and save the poses for later. I have had three children of my own, and completely understand that sometimes children will be cranky and uncooperative, and this is OK! Please try to bring along their favorite snack and toy just in case.
For infants and small children a good nap and a full tummy are a good idea before a session. I know better than anyone that getting ready for a family photo session can be very stressful. Try to plan ahead, and leave lots of time so that everyone can be as happy as possible when they arrive. I will keep shooting until I feel like we have some good shots, so don't worry if we go over the prepaid amount of time. Sometimes children need to take a break and play in the middle of a shoot, and this is ok. I love when moms and dads can participate in making their children smile while I shoot the photos. This should be a fun experience for everyone involved.

For Seniors...
Senior photos only happen once in a life time and so much planning and effort goes into making them perfect. I suggest picking clothing that makes you feel your best, but is also comfortable. Think about shoes! You will probably be doing some walking during your session and may encounter some mud/puddles, so keep that in mind when picking out your footwear. Make sure you bring some props to your session that tell your story! Anything that says who you are such as, an instrument, sports accessories, your car, or even your music collection.
